The Science Behind the Fun
Wastewater is energy-rich: Sewage contains sugars, fats, and proteins—fuel for certain bacteria.
Meet the Hydrogen Heroes: Friendly bacteria munch on organic matter and release hydrogen gas (H₂) as a byproduct.
Hydrogen is a superhero fuel: Unlike petrol or coal, burning hydrogen produces only water vapor—no smoke, no CO₂!
Play Like a Hydro Hero
💧 Station 1: Wastewater Collection
Kids collect “wastewater” (blue water in cups) as their team’s energy source.
🧪 Station 2: Biohydrogen Lab
Feed the water to “bacteria” (sponges or balls). Each successful feed earns a Hydrogen Balloon.
🚗 Station 3: Hydrogen Fuel
Use your hydrogen balloon to power a toy car or fan. Watch clean energy in action!
🌱 Station 4: Pollution Cleanup Challenge
Use your hydrogen-powered device to collect scattered “pollution tokens.” The team with the most cleaned tokens earns the Hydro Hero Badge!
